Classes for Kids in Bangkok

How the list is made and checked

How a place gets on the list

We read what the place publishes itself: its website and its Facebook or Instagram page. We record only what it says about its offer to children: ages, days and times, prices with their unit, languages, trials and whether a parent has to stay.

Addresses, map points and opening hours may also come from the place’s Google listing. Membership of a sports federation may come from the federation’s published list of clubs. Timetables and price lists published only as images are read independently, and a value is kept only when the readings agree.

Each fact is kept with the page it came from, the date it was read and a short quote in the language of the source, Thai included. Names and addresses appear as the place writes them, without transliteration. Directories, news articles, booking platforms and reviews are not used as sources.

Source flags

Every source has a flag. Published by the place: its own website or social page. Google listing: the place’s entry on Google Maps. Federation list: a sports federation’s list of member clubs.

On a place’s page, each fact has a numbered link to its source, with the flag and the date.

Missing facts

Not published means the pages we read do not give that fact. The place may still have a price or a timetable that it has not put online. In the table a missing fact appears as a dash.

We do not guess or fill gaps from the type of place. School grades are not converted into ages. Prices stay in the unit the place uses, with one exception marked ≈: a package price divided by the number of classes in it.

Class times and opening hours

Class times and opening hours sit in separate columns. Class times are the days and hours a class, care session or camp day runs, as the place publishes them. Opening hours are when the venue is open, often from its Google listing.

A place that is open at a given hour may have no class for your child’s age at that time. Where only opening hours are known, the row says so and goes below the line.

The after-school pages use the window from 15:00 to 18:00 on weekdays. A class qualifies when a group starts inside the window; care qualifies when its hours cover the whole window.

What the list does not measure

  • No place, teacher or programme is rated, scored or ranked.
  • We do not visit places. Every fact comes from published material.
  • We do not assess the quality of teaching or care.
  • We cannot tell whether a group has a free place.
  • We do not confirm prices with the place. A price appears as published, with its unit and date.

Right to reply

If you run a listed place and a fact is wrong, missing or outdated, use the correction form and include a link to a page that shows the correct fact.

Corrections backed by the place’s own pages are made at the next update and logged on the updates page. A place that closes keeps its page, marked as closed, and is removed from every table.

A place can also ask to leave the list. Choose “Remove a place from the list” in the form and leave a contact that shows you run it. The place, its page and its rows in the data files are removed within a month.

Dates and updates

Each place is read again within 6 months. A price published for a period that has ended stays on the place’s page with that period, and is left out of the filters and the summary line.

Money

No place pays to appear, and no payment can change a row or its position. The default order is always area, then name.

A place’s page can carry one link to Zartrace, a service affiliated with this list, labelled as such. Clicks on the contact buttons are counted as totals, without personal data.

Open data

The full list is available as a JSON file and a CSV table, with a record for each place and a row for each programme, including every source, flag and date. The licence is stated in the file.

Areas, distance and the map

Areas are Bangkok’s districts (khet), the provinces next to the city and a few well-known neighbourhoods. A branch is placed by the official boundaries in OpenStreetMap: the district or province that contains it, unless it lies near the heart of a listed neighbourhood.

Distance is a straight line from the point you choose to the nearest branch, rounded to the nearest half kilometre. Your location is requested only when you press the button. It stays in your browser and is not sent anywhere.

Points found from an address are approximate. Map data © OpenStreetMap contributors.
